During the normal production process of the two-stage furnace, the semi-coke under the retort section is taken out in time for industrial analysis. According to the book "Cryogenic Carbon Distillation Engineering", the data on the volatile content of coal carbonization products (i.e. semi-coke or coke) in different carbonization ranges are as follows:
Low temperature carbonization (~550℃) Contains volatile matter 8—12%;
Medium temperature carbonization (550—750℃) containing volatile matter 4—7%;
High temperature carbonization (above 900℃) Contains 0.5 volatile content—1%。
(The above data are only approximate, and different raw materials will have some differences.)
Based on our many years of experience in industrial gas production, after gasification of coal with a volatile content of less than 5%, the tar content in the gas will be relatively small. The purpose of our design and application of retort technology in coal gasification is to minimize the volatile content in semi-coke without making the retort temperature too high, causing excessive secondary cracking of the retort products.
Therefore, it should actually belong to medium-temperature carbonization, and the final temperature of carbonization should be close to 550—750℃. The volatile content of the semi-coke extracted in this temperature range is 2—Between 4% is reasonable.
