In order to provide heat insulation, most existing gas generators are designed with a double-layer structure of inner wall and outer wall, and the top and bottom ends of the inner wall and outer wall are sealed by U-shaped rings respectively, and then the gas generator is connected to the support. The existing U-shaped ring preparation process involves cutting a rectangular steel plate to obtain multiple identical sector-shaped components. The multiple identical sector-shaped components are placed on the same horizontal plane and spliced into a circular ring. The spliced joints are welded to form a flat circular ring. The flat circular ring is then cold-rolled using a cold rolling mill to obtain a U-shaped ring.
U-shaped rings mainly play the role of sealing the inner and outer walls, but the sealing effect of existing U-shaped rings is not ideal, and there are problems such as difficulty in maintenance. The main reason is that the existing U-shaped ring is made up of multiple sector-shaped components. There are three or more seams on the U-shaped ring. The excessive number of seams causes the strength of the U-shaped ring to decrease. When used in a gas generator, the working environment of the U-shaped ring requires repeated heating and cooling processes. The existing structure of the U-shaped ring has poor strength and cannot meet the demand. After the U-shaped ring is used for a long time, the seams are prone to corrosion, which reduces the sealing performance of the U-shaped ring. However, due to too many welds, it is often impossible to find the leaking part of the existing U-shaped ring during maintenance, making maintenance difficult.
Secondly, in the existing U-ring production process, multiple sector-shaped components need to be cut from a rectangular steel plate. Due to the irregular shape of the sector-shaped components, more steel plate scraps will be produced during the cutting process, resulting in waste and increasing production costs. Moreover, the existing U-shaped ring process takes a long time and the production efficiency is low. The main reason is that it is more difficult to obtain sector-shaped components by cutting them on steel plates. The sector-shaped components need to be cut one by one, which is a time-consuming and labor-intensive process. When sector-shaped components are welded into a flat ring shape, since there are three or more welds, the welding takes a long time. Since the existing U-shaped ring is formed by cold pressing, when the U-shaped ring is used in a gas generator, the temperature inside the gas generator can reach 1000°C. The U-shaped ring needs to be repeatedly used in a heating and cooling working environment. The strength of the cold-formed U-shaped ring cannot meet the demand and its service life is short. After the U-ring is installed on the gas generator and used, if the U-ring needs to be replaced, production must be stopped, causing economic losses.
U-shaped rings for gas generators and their manufacturing process belong to the field of U-shaped ring processing technology. The U-shaped ring body is formed by bending and rolling a long steel plate. There is a weld on the U-shaped ring body. The U-shaped ring body has a U-shaped longitudinal section. The present invention uses a rolling machine to roll long steel plates made of metal into rings, and after welding the welds, a flat ring with a flat longitudinal section is obtained; a heating punch is used to heat the flat ring at a heating temperature of 600~1000°C, and the flat ring is punched into a U shape in its longitudinal section to form a U-shaped ring body; the U-shaped ring body is slowly air-cooled to room temperature. The U-shaped ring has good sealing performance, high strength, and easy maintenance. The manufacturing process can significantly shorten the working time, increase the processing speed, and eliminate the loss of leftover materials, saving costs.
